Possible Causes
Blocked wand or hose, Blocked cyclone inlet, Full dirty water tank or separator, Clogged post-motor filter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug before clearing blockages.
- Check tanks: Empty the dirty water tank and ensure it is correctly seated. A misaligned tank can break the suction seal.
- Inspect wand and hose: Detach the wand and hose. Look through them against a light source. Remove any obstructions using a flexible, non‑sharp tool.
- Clean cyclone and inlet: Remove the cyclone assembly (if fitted). Tap gently over a bin to dislodge fine dust. Wipe the inlet and seals with a dry cloth.
- Check filters: Remove and inspect pre‑motor and post‑motor filters. If heavily soiled, wash (if washable type) under cold water and allow to dry for 24 hours. Replace non‑washable HEPA filters as per Dyson guidance.
- Seal inspection: Check rubber seals around the tank, cyclone, and hose connections for damage or misalignment. Reseat components firmly until they click.
