Possible Causes
Dirty water tank full, Stuck float valve in recovery tank, Blocked recovery tank inlet, Misfitted tank lid or gasket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before removing tanks.
- Empty dirty water tank: Remove the recovery tank and empty it completely. Rinse with warm water to clear foam and residue.
- Check float valve: Inside the tank, locate the float (often a plastic cup or ball). Ensure it moves freely up and down. Clean off any soap scum or debris that may cause sticking.
- Inspect tank lid and seals: Check the lid gasket for deformation or tears. Make sure the lid is fully closed and latched when refitting.
- Clear inlet: Clean the inlet port where dirty water enters the tank. Remove hair or fibres that may restrict flow.
- Reset and test: Refit the tank securely and power on. If E7 persists with an empty, correctly fitted tank, the float switch or level sensor may be faulty and require replacement.
