Possible Causes
Failed brush motor, Jammed brush bar, Broken drive belt, Faulty brush motor switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before working near the brush head. Rotating brushes can cause injury.
- Check for jams:
- Turn the machine over and inspect the brush bar in the floor tool.
- Remove hair, threads, and debris wrapped around the brush.
- Inspect drive belt:
- Open the belt cover on the floor tool.
- Check if the belt is broken, stretched, or off the pulleys.
- Replace with a genuine Henry brush drive belt if damaged.
- Test brush motor:
- With the belt removed, try to spin the motor shaft by hand; it should turn freely.
- Measure resistance across the motor; open circuit indicates a failed brush motor.
- Check brush switch and wiring:
- Inspect the brush on/off switch and its wiring harness for loose connections.
- Replace the brush motor switch if it does not make contact.
