Possible Causes

Overloaded circuit due to long extension lead, Failing motor drawing excess current, Shorting solution pump, Faulty control PCB current sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Always unplug before inspection. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker without finding the cause.

  • Eliminate external power issues:
    • Plug the Henry carpet cleaner directly into a wall socket, avoiding multi-way adaptors and long, thin extension leads.
    • Ensure the circuit is not shared with other heavy appliances.
  • Test vacuum and pump separately:
    • Run the vacuum motor alone (no spray) and observe for tripping.
    • Run the pump alone (if possible) and observe.
    • If E6 only occurs when both are on, suspect combined load or PCB sensing fault.
  • Inspect pump and motor wiring:
    • Check for chafed wires where the loom passes through plastic housings.
    • Secure any loose wiring away from moving parts.
  • If either component overheats or smells burnt:
    • Stop using the machine immediately.
    • Have a technician measure current draw and replace the faulty vacuum motor assembly or solution pump assembly as required.
  • Persistent E6 with normal current draw:
    • The control PCB current sensor may be defective and require replacement.
