Possible Causes
Blown plug fuse, Damaged power cord, Faulty main power switch, Open thermal fuse on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is unplugged before opening any covers. Do not bypass safety devices.
- Verify supply: Test the wall outlet with another device. Check and replace the plug fuse with the correct rating if blown.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Flex the cord gently near the plug and strain relief; if power is intermittent, replace the cord set.
- Test power switch: Access the main rocker switch and check continuity when switched ON. Replace if it does not close.
- Check internal thermal fuse: Some Rowenta models include a thermal fuse on the PCB or in-line with the motor. Test for continuity and replace only with the same temperature and current rating.
