Possible Causes
Shorted suction motor, Shorted heater element, Damaged wiring harness causing short to chassis, Failed power triac or MOSFET on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug immediately if you smell burning or see smoke. Do not attempt to restart until inspected.
- Visual inspection: Remove covers and inspect the motor, heater, and wiring harness for burn marks, melted insulation, or discoloration.
- Isolate components: Disconnect the motor and heater from the PCB. Using a multimeter, check each for low-resistance shorts to chassis ground and between terminals.
- Check harness routing: Ensure wires are not pinched between plastic housings or rubbing against sharp metal edges.
- Inspect control PCB: Look for cracked or exploded components, especially power semiconductors and resistors. If damaged, the PCB must be replaced.
- Replace failed parts: Replace any shorted motor, heater, or harness. Only reapply power after all suspected faults are corrected and the unit is fully reassembled.
