How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the housing.
- Correct operating position: Ensure you are using the carpet cleaner in the recommended upright or slightly reclined position. Excessive tilting can legitimately trigger protection.
- Locate the tilt sensor: It is often a small cylindrical or rectangular component mounted on the main PCB or a small daughter board.
- Inspect and clean: Make sure the sensor is firmly mounted and not obstructed by wiring or debris. Gently clean around it with a dry brush.
- Check wiring: Verify that the tilt sensor leads are intact and connected.
- Replace if faulty: If the unit shows E18 even when upright and the sensor tests open/closed incorrectly, replace the tilt sensor module.
