Possible Causes
Blocked air intake vents, Clogged internal filters, Excessive load on suction motor due to restricted airflow, Faulty or overly sensitive thermal protector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the carpet cleaner and allow it to cool before inspection.
- Clean all filters: Remove and clean the pre-motor filter, exhaust filter, and any foam or mesh filters in the air path. Wash foam filters with mild detergent and let them dry completely before reinstalling.
- Check air vents: Inspect the side and rear vents for dust buildup. Use a soft brush or vacuum to clear them.
- Inspect for internal blockages: Remove the hose, wand, and floor nozzle. Check for clogs in each section and in the main suction inlet at the base.
- Verify correct usage: On very thick carpets, use a slower pace and avoid pressing down excessively, which can restrict airflow.
- Thermal protector check: If the unit trips quickly even when clean and lightly loaded, the thermal protector on the motor may be weak and require replacement along with the motor assembly.
