VAX Platinum Insufficient Extraction / Airflow Loss at Nozzle

Carpet remains very wet after multiple passes, poor water pickup

Possible Causes

Dirty water tank full or incorrectly seated, Blocked nozzle lips, Worn or damaged nozzle squeegee, Low suction due to filter blockage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before inspecting the nozzle or tanks.

  • Empty dirty water tank: A full tank will stop effective extraction. Empty and refit, ensuring it clicks into place.
  • Inspect nozzle lips: Check the clear nozzle at the front of the floorhead. Clean any lint or fibres from the suction slot and rubber squeegee.
  • Check squeegee condition: If the rubber edge is torn, hardened, or warped, replace the nozzle or squeegee strip to restore a good seal with the carpet.
  • Clean filters: Ensure all filters are clean to maximise suction.
  • Use proper technique: Make slow, steady backward passes with the trigger released to extract water. Avoid over-wetting by not repeatedly spraying the same area.
