Possible Causes
Loose connector between control panel and main PCB, Faulty control panel board, Damaged main PCB, Moisture ingress on electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the carpet cleaner and keep it away from water while inspecting electronics.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for at least 5 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Plug back in and try again. Sometimes E10 clears after a full power cycle.
- Check for moisture: If the machine was recently used heavily or stored in a damp area, allow it to dry in a warm, dry room for 24 hours. Do not use external heat sources like hairdryers directly on the unit.
- Inspect control panel: Look for signs of liquid spills on the top control area. If detergent or water has entered the buttons, it can short the panel.
- Internal connections (advanced): If you are competent, remove the control panel cover and check the ribbon cable or wiring harness to the main PCB. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Board replacement: If E10 persists, either the control panel PCB or main PCB is likely faulty. Replacement requires correct part identification and anti-static handling; best done by a service centre.
