Possible Causes

Airlock in solution pump, Blocked solution spray nozzles, Kinked or pinched solution hose, Failed solution pump motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before inspecting hoses or nozzles. Do not run the pump dry for long periods.

  • Check clean water tank seating: Remove the clean water tank and re-seat it firmly, ensuring the valve at the bottom opens correctly when installed. Inspect the tank cap and seal for damage.
  • Prime the pump: Fill the clean water tank with warm (not hot) water and the recommended VAX Platinum solution. With the machine upright and plugged in, hold the trigger for 30–60 seconds continuously to purge air from the pump. If water begins to flow, continue until spray is steady.
  • Clean spray nozzles: Unplug the unit. Locate the spray bar or individual nozzles on the floorhead. Use a pin or soft brush to clear mineral deposits or debris. Rinse with warm water.
  • Inspect solution hose: Follow the clear solution hose from the tank to the floorhead. Look for kinks, pinches under the handle, or disconnections. Straighten or reconnect as needed.
  • No spray after priming: If the pump remains silent or only hums without moving water, the solution pump may be faulty. Replacement involves opening the main body and swapping the pump assembly and is best done by a service centre.
