VAX Platinum
Accessory Port / Diverter Blockage
No suction at the upholstery tool or hose, but floorhead suction seems normal

Possible Causes
Blocked accessory suction port, Diverter flap stuck in floor mode, Debris lodged in hose connector, Worn accessory port seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before attaching or detaching tools.
- Check tool connection: Ensure the hose is fully inserted into the accessory port until it clicks. A loose connection will cause loss of suction.
- Inspect port for blockages: Remove the hose and look into the accessory port. Use a torch to check for debris. Clear any obstruction with a flexible brush or blunt rod.
- Operate diverter: If your model has a floor/tool suction selector, move it several times to free a stuck diverter flap. Ensure it is firmly set to the tool position.
- Check seals: Inspect the rubber seal around the accessory port and hose end. If torn or flattened, replace the seal to restore airtight connection.
- Test with another tool: If possible, try a different VAX Platinum tool to rule out a blocked upholstery nozzle.
