Strong burning smell from the machine during use

Safety first: Switch off and unplug the machine immediately if you smell burning. Do not continue to operate until the cause is found.

• Check for jams: Inspect the brushbar for obstructions and ensure it spins freely. A jammed brushbar can cause the belt to overheat and smell.
• Inspect belt: Remove the belt cover and check the belt for glazing, melting, or burning. Replace if damaged.
• Clean filters and vents: Ensure all filters are clean and vents are unobstructed to prevent motor overheating.
• Sniff test: After cooling, smell near the motor housing. A strong electrical burning odour may indicate motor winding damage.
• Do not ignore persistent smell: If the burning smell returns quickly after cleaning and belt replacement, discontinue use and have the motor inspected by a professional.
