Possible Causes
Shorted main motor windings, Burnt motor commutator, Damaged motor wiring harness, Blown motor triac or relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately unplug the cleaner. Do not attempt to restart if you smelled burning or saw smoke.
- Visual inspection: Remove the housing to access the motor. Look for blackened windings, melted insulation, or burnt connectors.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the motor wires from the control board to the motor for chafing or shorting to the chassis.
- Do not bypass protection: Never bypass fuses or safety devices to force the motor to run.
- Replace motor: If the motor shows signs of overheating or measures as a short with a multimeter, replace the complete motor assembly with a genuine Vorwerk part. The control board may also need replacement if its driver components are damaged.
