Possible Causes

Failed solution pump, Airlock in solution line, Blocked spray nozzles, Faulty trigger switch or wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and empty tanks before opening panels.

  • Check solution tank: Ensure the clean water/detergent tank is filled and correctly locked into the Zanussi base. Inspect the tank outlet valve for sticking; press it gently to confirm it opens.
  • Prime the pump: Refit the tank, plug in, and hold the trigger for 30–60 seconds with the unit running to clear airlocks. Sometimes the pump needs extended priming after storage.
  • Clean spray nozzles: Remove the floor head and locate the spray jets. Use a pin or soft brush to clear mineral deposits or detergent residue. Flush with warm water.
  • Check trigger switch: With the unit unplugged, open the handle housing and locate the trigger microswitch. Test continuity with a multimeter when the trigger is pressed. Replace the switch if it does not close.
  • Test solution pump: Access the pump (usually near the solution tank). Check for 230V/120V supply (qualified person only) when the trigger is pressed. If voltage is present but the pump does not run or is noisy with no flow, replace the solution pump assembly.
