Possible Causes

Brush roller jammed with hair or debris, Worn or slipping brush drive belt, Seized brush bearings, Overly high brush height setting

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the carpet cleaner before accessing the brush area.

  • Clear brush roller: Turn the unit over and remove the bottom plate. Cut away hair, threads, and fibres wrapped around the Zanussi brush bar and end caps.
  • Check brush bearings: Remove the brush bar and spin the end caps by hand. If they feel rough or seized, replace the brush bar assembly.
  • Inspect drive belt: Examine the belt for cracks, glazing, or stretching. Replace if worn or loose. Ensure the belt is correctly routed around the motor pulley and brush pulley.
  • Adjust height: If your model has a carpet height selector, set it to a higher position for deep pile carpets to reduce load on the brush.
  • Reset and test: Reassemble, plug in, and reset the error (usually by switching off and on). Test on a small area of carpet and monitor for recurrence.
