Possible Causes

Stuck float in dirty water tank, Blocked air path at tank lid, Faulty full-tank micro-switch or reed sensor, Damaged tank lid seal causing false trigger

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the cleaner and remove the dirty water tank.

  • Clean the tank and float: Open the Zanussi recovery tank and locate the float mechanism. Rinse thoroughly to remove soap residue and debris. Ensure the float moves freely up and down.
  • Inspect tank lid and seals: Check the lid gasket for deformation or damage. Replace the gasket if it does not seal properly, as incorrect airflow can affect the sensor.
  • Check air path: Make sure the air inlet and outlet in the tank lid are not blocked. Clean with warm water and a soft brush.
  • Test full-tank sensor: Access the sensor in the base (micro-switch or reed). Manually actuate it and check continuity with a multimeter. Replace if stuck or not switching.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the tank, ensuring it seats firmly. Power on and verify that the E08 warning no longer appears under normal use.
