Possible Causes
Faulty handle position switch, Defective tilt sensor, Broken interlock tab on body or handle, Misaligned body shell preventing switch activation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before inspecting switches.
- Check handle position: Ensure the Zanussi handle is fully lowered into the operating position. Some models will not run when fully upright.
- Inspect interlock tabs: Look for broken plastic tabs or levers that press on micro-switches when the handle is lowered. Replace damaged body or handle parts if necessary.
- Test micro-switch: Access the handle or base area where the interlock switch is located. Use a multimeter to test continuity when the handle is in the run position. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Check tilt sensor (if fitted): Some models use a tilt sensor module. Ensure it is securely mounted and not damaged. Replace if faulty.
- Reset and test: After repair, reassemble, plug in, and confirm that E11 is cleared and the unit starts normally when the handle is lowered.
