Possible Causes
Blocked detergent inlet, Faulty detergent solenoid valve, Kinked detergent hose, Empty or incorrectly seated detergent cartridge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and remove any detergent cartridges before service.
- Check detergent supply: Ensure the Zanussi detergent tank or cartridge is filled and correctly locked into place. Verify any caps or seals are removed as per the user manual.
- Clean detergent inlet: Inspect the inlet port and filter screen where the cartridge connects. Rinse and clear any dried detergent residue.
- Inspect detergent hose: Access the internal detergent line from the cartridge to the mixing point. Straighten any kinks and replace brittle or cracked hoses.
- Test solenoid valve: Locate the detergent solenoid valve. With the unit powered (qualified person only), check if the valve receives voltage when detergent mode is selected. If it does but does not open, replace the valve.
- Flush system: After repairs, run warm water through the detergent circuit to ensure free flow and clear the E12 error.
