How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the coffee maker from mains power before removing covers or accessing internal components.
Step-by-step checks:
- Check water level: Remove the water tank, fill it to at least the MIN mark with fresh, cold water, and reinstall it firmly until you feel it click into place.
- Clean tank contacts: If your Beko model uses electrical contacts on the tank, wipe them and the matching contacts on the machine with a dry cloth to remove scale or moisture.
- Inspect tank seating: Make sure no foreign objects or coffee grounds are under the tank. Reseat the tank several times to ensure the tank presence switch is actuated.
- Test operation: Reconnect power and try a rinse or hot water cycle. If E01 clears, normal operation can resume.
- Internal checks (advanced): If the error persists, unplug the unit, remove the top cover (usually Torx or Phillips screws), and locate the tank presence microswitch or reed sensor near the tank base. Check that the actuator moves freely and that the switch clicks mechanically. A multimeter continuity test can confirm if the switch closes when the tank is in place.
If the switch or level sensor is defective, replacement is recommended. If you are not comfortable opening the appliance, contact a qualified Beko service technician.
