Machine shows E05, does not heat water, coffee is cold or brewing does not start.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains and wait for the machine to cool completely. Heating circuits carry dangerous voltages.
Descale first:
- If the machine still heats slightly or intermittently, run a full descaling cycle to remove scale that can cause overheating and thermal fuse trips.
Internal diagnostics (advanced):
- Remove the covers to access the thermoblock or boiler assembly.
- Visually inspect for burnt wiring, discolored connectors, or a tripped thermal fuse mounted on the heater body.
- With the unit unplugged, measure continuity across the heating element terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed heater.
- Check continuity across the thermal fuse; if open, it must be replaced with an identical temperature and current rating component.
- Inspect the main PCB for burnt tracks or a failed heater triac/relay; this typically requires board-level repair skills.
Replacing the thermoblock or heater assembly is often the most reliable repair. If you are not experienced with mains-voltage repairs, contact an authorized Beko service center.
