How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing the bean hopper or grinder.
Basic cleaning:
- Empty the bean hopper completely.
- Remove the hopper (if removable) and vacuum out loose beans and grounds.
- Use a small brush to clean the upper burr and chute area. Do not use water inside the grinder.
- Check for foreign objects (stones, hard debris) that may have jammed the burrs.
Functional test:
- Reassemble the hopper, add a small amount of beans, plug in the machine, and attempt a grind cycle.
Advanced checks:
- If the grinder hums but does not turn, the burrs may still be jammed or the motor is weak.
- If there is no sound at all, check the grinder motor connectors and wiring harness on the PCB.
- With the unit unplugged, measure the grinder motor winding resistance and compare to specifications; an open circuit indicates a failed motor.
Replace the grinder motor or complete grinder assembly if it is seized or electrically open. PCB driver faults should be handled by a professional.
