Possible Causes

Drip tray not fully inserted, Faulty tray presence microswitch, Broken magnet or reed sensor for tray detection, Debris blocking sensor area

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before internal inspection.

Tray checks:

  • Remove the drip tray and waste coffee container, empty and clean them thoroughly.
  • Inspect the underside for magnets or tabs that actuate sensors; ensure they are intact.
  • Clean the sensor area inside the machine where the tray slides in; remove coffee grounds and moisture.
  • Reinsert the tray firmly until it is fully seated.

Sensor checks (advanced):

  • Open the front or side panel to access the tray presence microswitch or reed sensor.
  • Verify that the actuator moves when the tray is inserted.
  • Test the switch with a multimeter for proper open/close operation.

Replace the tray sensor or microswitch if it does not change state when actuated. If the tray itself is damaged or missing magnets, replace the tray assembly.
