Coffee overflows from the brew basket, spilling grounds and liquid into the filter area and sometimes onto the counter.

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool before opening the lid. Hot coffee and steam can cause burns.

• Remove and empty basket: Carefully lift out the brew basket and discard the saturated filter and grounds.
• Clean basket outlet: Rinse the basket thoroughly, ensuring the bottom outlet hole is clear. Move the drip-stop plunger up and down to confirm free movement.
• Adjust grind and dose: Use a medium grind suitable for drip coffee. Avoid espresso-fine grinds. Follow Calphalon’s recommended scoop amounts for your cup size.
• Use correct filters: Use the proper size and shape of paper filter for your model. Overfilled or folded filters can block flow.
• Test with water only: Run a cycle with an empty basket and no filter to confirm water flows freely through the basket outlet.
