• Check for obstructions: Remove the brew basket and inspect the lid area for stray coffee scoops, filters, or debris blocking closure.
• Inspect hinge: Look at the hinge pins for cracks or bending. Gently move the lid to feel for binding.
• Align lid: Close the lid slowly and observe where it contacts the body. Slight side pressure may help it seat; do not force it.
• If latch is broken: A broken plastic latch or hinge will usually require replacement of the lid assembly.
