How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety warning: Steam circuits operate at high temperature and pressure. Allow the machine to cool for at least 30 minutes and unplug it before servicing.
Steps:
- 1. Cool-down reset: Turn the machine off, unplug it, and let it cool completely. Plug back in and test. Some models will clear a temporary overheat condition after cooling.
- 2. Descale the machine: Heavy scale on the steam boiler or thermoblock can cause hot spots and trigger overheat protection. Run a full descaling cycle following the Electrolux manual.
- 3. Inspect steam thermostat (advanced): Remove the cover and locate the steam boiler/thermoblock. Identify the steam thermostat or thermal fuse attached to it. Check for a manual reset button on some thermostats; press gently if present.
- 4. Test continuity: Use a multimeter to check continuity across the steam thermostat and any thermal fuses. Replace any open components with identical-rated Electrolux parts.
Note: If E05 recurs frequently, there may be a control or sensor calibration issue. In that case, professional diagnosis is recommended.
