Possible Causes
Brew button switch failure, Control board logic fault, Lid or basket safety switch open, Timer set to delayed brew instead of immediate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before pressing or cleaning around buttons and switches.
- Cancel delay: Ensure no delayed brew program is active. Press the program or cancel button to clear any timer settings.
- Check lid and basket: Confirm the top lid is fully closed and the filter basket is seated. Many Farberware models will not start if safety switches are not engaged.
- Test the button: Press the brew button firmly several times. If it feels stuck or does not click, clean around it with a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Inspect switches (advanced): With the unit unplugged and panel removed, test continuity of the brew button and lid/basket microswitches. Replace any that do not change state when pressed.
