Possible Causes
Broken drip-stop spring, Coffee residue sticking valve open, Worn drip-stop seal, Misaligned carafe actuator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and let it cool before working under the brew basket.
- Clean the mechanism: Remove the brew basket and thoroughly clean the drip-stop valve and surrounding area with warm soapy water.
- Check spring action: Ensure the valve moves freely and returns to the closed position when released. If it sticks, soak and clean again.
- Inspect seal: Look for cracks or flattening of the rubber seal. Replace the drip-stop assembly if worn.
- Verify carafe position: Make sure the carafe is correctly positioned so its lid presses the actuator fully when in place.
