Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main board, Moisture behind control panel, Failed touchpad membrane, Faulty main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before removing any control panel screws or covers.
- Power cycle: Unplug the unit for at least 10 minutes, then plug back in. This can clear minor communication glitches.
- Dry out moisture: If the panel was recently cleaned with liquid or exposed to steam, leave the unit unplugged for 24 hours in a dry area to allow moisture to evaporate.
- Inspect ribbon cable (advanced): Remove the screws securing the control panel, gently pull it forward, and check the flat ribbon cable connection to the main board. Reseat the cable fully.
- Replace keypad or board: If certain buttons never respond or E6 persists, the touchpad membrane or main control PCB may be defective and require replacement with the correct Farberware part.
