Display shows E9 and the keep-warm function does not operate correctly.

• Verify function: Brew a small pot and check if the warming plate heats at all. If it stays cold, the element or thermostat may be open.
• Check for visible damage: Remove the bottom cover and inspect the warming plate wiring for burns or disconnected terminals.
• Test continuity (advanced): Use a multimeter to check continuity across the warming plate element and thermostat. Replace any open components with compatible Farberware parts.
• Board diagnosis: If the element and thermostat test good but E9 persists, the control board's switching device (relay/triac) may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
