Possible Causes
Faulty flow meter not registering pulses, Blocked flow meter due to scale or debris, Loose wiring to flow meter, Defective main board flow meter input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before opening the housing.
Step 1 – Check water tank and filter:
- Ensure the water tank is full and properly seated.
- Remove any CLARIS filter and test without it to rule out flow restriction.
Step 2 – Descale the machine:
- Run a full descaling cycle to clear scale from the hydraulic circuit and flow meter.
Step 3 – Inspect flow meter (advanced):
- Remove the housing (unplug first).
- Locate the flow meter (small plastic disc with two hose connections and a wire harness).
- Check hoses for kinks and ensure they are firmly attached.
- Disconnect the flow meter and inspect for debris; flush with clean water if necessary.
Step 4 – Electrical checks:
- Verify the flow meter connector is seated on the main board.
- If you have a multimeter and experience, you can check for pulse output from the flow meter while water flows (requires caution and is best left to professionals).
Step 5 – Replace faulty parts:
- Replace the flow meter if it is blocked internally or not generating pulses.
- If a new flow meter does not resolve the error, the main control board may be defective.
