Possible Causes
Overheated thermoblock due to scale, Faulty NTC sensor reading incorrect temperature, Blocked hydraulic circuit causing dry heating, Defective main control board temperature logic
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool fully before working on it.
Step 1 – Allow to cool and reset:
- Leave the machine unplugged for 30 minutes.
- Plug back in and test; if the error clears temporarily, overheating is confirmed.
Step 2 – Descale thoroughly:
- Run one or two full descaling cycles with Jura descaling tablets.
- Ensure the water tank is clean and the filter (if used) is not clogged.
Step 3 – Check for flow restrictions (advanced):
- Remove the housing (unplug first).
- Inspect hoses, flow meter, and valves for kinks or blockages.
- Verify that water flows freely through the thermoblock when the pump runs.
Step 4 – Sensor and board checks:
- Inspect the NTC sensor on the thermoblock and its wiring.
- Replace the sensor if it is damaged or reading incorrectly.
- If the sensor is good but the machine still reports overtemperature, the main control board may be faulty.
