Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and let it cool completely. Internal boilers and thermoblocks can remain hot for a long time.
Step 1 – Reset and cool:
- Leave the machine unplugged for at least 30 minutes to allow any thermal cutouts to reset (if self-resetting type).
- Plug back in and power on to see if the error persists.
Step 2 – Descale the machine:
- If the machine will allow it, run a full descaling cycle using Jura-approved descaling tablets.
- Scale buildup on the steam thermoblock can cause overheating and sensor errors.
Step 3 – Inspect steam thermoblock (advanced):
- Remove the housing (unplug first).
- Locate the steam thermoblock assembly (usually near the steam valve).
- Check the NTC sensor wiring and connector for damage or looseness.
- Inspect the thermal fuse/thermal cutout attached to the thermoblock; if it is open (no continuity), it must be replaced.
Step 4 – Replace components as needed:
- Replace a failed NTC sensor or thermal fuse with Jura-compatible parts.
- If the heating element inside the thermoblock is open-circuit, the entire thermoblock assembly must be replaced.
- Because this involves mains voltage and pressurized hot water/steam, consider using a Jura-authorized service center.
