Display shows “Error 23”; machine may not detect the used coffee grounds container correctly.

Safety first: Unplug the machine before internal work.

Step 1 – Clean and reseat container:

• Remove the used coffee grounds container and clean it thoroughly.
• Check for broken or worn plastic tabs that engage the sensor.
• Reinsert the container fully until it clicks.

Step 2 – Clean sensor area:

• Clean the sensor area inside the machine with a dry cloth.

Step 3 – Advanced sensor check:

• With the housing removed (unplug first), locate the container sensor (microswitch or optical).
• Check for proper alignment and secure mounting.
• Test the sensor with a multimeter or by observing its actuation.

Step 4 – Replace faulty parts:

• Replace the used coffee grounds container if its actuator tab is broken.
• Replace the sensor if it does not respond when the container is inserted.
