Display shows “Error 26”; machine may not detect the hot-water spout or accessory correctly.

Safety first: Unplug the machine before internal inspection.

Step 1 – Check spout installation:

• Remove the hot-water spout or accessory and inspect for damage.
• Reinsert it firmly until it locks into place.

Step 2 – Clean connection area:

• Clean the area where the spout attaches; remove coffee or scale deposits.

Step 3 – Sensor check (advanced):

• With the housing removed (unplug first), locate the accessory detection switch or sensor.
• Check for proper actuation when the spout is inserted.
• Test the switch with a multimeter.

Step 4 – Replace faulty parts:

• Replace the hot-water spout if its locking tabs are broken.
• Replace the detection switch/sensor if it fails to register the spout.
