Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the brew mechanism.

Step 1 – Clean and lubricate brew group:

• Remove the brew group and rinse thoroughly.
• Apply a thin layer of food-safe silicone grease to the main sliding rails and piston seals.
• Ensure the brew screen and filter are clean and not clogged.

Step 2 – Reset the machine:

• Reinstall the brew group, drip tray, and grounds container.
• Unplug the machine for 5 minutes, then plug back in and power on to allow a fresh initialization.

Step 3 – Observe operation:

• Run a rinse or brew cycle and listen for irregular grinding or stopping noises.
• If the brew group stops mid-travel or reverses unexpectedly, timing or sensor issues are likely.

Step 4 – Advanced checks:

• With the housing removed (unplug first), inspect the drive gears for wear or missing teeth.
• Check the brew group encoder wheel or position sensor for dirt or misalignment.
• Clean optical sensors carefully with a soft, dry cloth.

Step 5 – Replace faulty parts:

• Replace worn gears or the drive motor assembly if they slip under load.
• Replace a faulty encoder or position sensor if it does not reliably detect positions.
• Complex timing adjustments are best handled by a Jura service center.
