Foreign object (stone) in grinder, Worn or misaligned grinder burrs, Loose grinder mounting screws, Grinder motor bearings worn
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing the grinder. Burrs are sharp.
Step 1 – Remove beans:
- Empty the bean hopper.
- Vacuum out remaining beans and grounds.
Step 2 – Check for foreign objects:
- Listen during a brief grind test (with few beans) for metallic or crunching sounds.
- If suspected, disassemble the grinder top burr carrier and inspect for stones or hard objects.
Step 3 – Tighten mounting:
- With the housing removed (unplug first), check that the grinder is firmly mounted and all screws are tight.
Step 4 – Replace worn parts:
- If burrs are chipped or heavily worn, replace the burr set.
- If the motor bearings are noisy, replace the grinder motor or complete grinder assembly.
