Possible Causes
NTC temperature sensor open or shorted, Loose wiring to NTC on thermoblock, Corroded connector on main PCB, Failed main control board input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow at least 30 minutes for internal parts to cool.
E02 indicates the control board is receiving an invalid signal from the temperature sensor.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect and test. Transient faults can sometimes clear.
- Check for moisture: Inspect around the thermoblock area (if accessible via service flap) for moisture or leaks that could affect the sensor connector. Dry gently with a cloth.
- Visual cable check: Without disassembling deeply, look for pinched or broken wires near the heater/boiler area.
- If you can access the sensor: Verify that the NTC probe is firmly clipped to the thermoblock or boiler and that its plug is fully seated on the PCB.
- Persistent E02: The NTC sensor or the main PCB must be tested with a multimeter and likely replaced. This requires opening the housing and should be done by a technician familiar with Severin thermoblock systems.
