Possible Causes
Brew group jammed by coffee residue, Drive gear teeth worn or broken, Micro-switch or position sensor faulty, Drive motor weak or seized
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before removing the brew group or opening any service doors.
This error means the brew mechanism cannot reach its correct position.
- Remove and clean brew group: If your Severin model has a removable brew unit, take it out according to the manual. Rinse thoroughly under lukewarm water, moving the internal piston to clear coffee residues. Let it dry completely.
- Clean rails and guides: Wipe the brew chamber and guide rails inside the machine with a damp cloth. Remove any loose coffee grounds.
- Light lubrication: Apply a food-safe silicone grease sparingly to the moving joints and rails of the brew group.
- Reinsert correctly: Ensure the brew group is locked in the correct position before closing the door.
- If E07 remains: The drive motor, gear set, or position sensor (micro-switch or Hall sensor) may be defective and should be checked and replaced by a technician.
