Possible Causes
Steam thermistor faulty, Steam heater element open circuit, Blocked milk frother nozzle, Scale in steam circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and allow all steam pressure to dissipate before touching the steam wand or milk system.
E10 is related to the steam or milk frothing system.
- Clean milk system: Disassemble the milk frother nozzle and suction tube according to the manual. Soak parts in warm water with a food-safe detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
- Descale steam circuit: Run a descaling cycle, ensuring the steam outlet is used when instructed so descaler passes through the steam path.
- Check steam outlet: Use a fine needle to gently clear any dried milk from the steam holes (with the machine unplugged and cold).
- Test steam function: After cleaning and descaling, test steam only (without milk). If no steam and E10 appears, the steam heater or its sensor may be defective.
- Component replacement: A failed steam thermistor or heater element requires internal access and should be replaced by a technician.
