Possible Causes
Standing water in tank or internal lines, Dirty carafe and lid, Damp coffee grounds left in filter, Clogged and dirty drip tray (on some models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before cleaning.
- Deep clean: Wash the carafe, lid, filter holder, and permanent filter (if present) with hot water and dish soap. Rinse thoroughly.
- Empty tank daily: Do not leave water standing in the tank for days. Refill with fresh water before brewing.
- Remove used grounds: Discard used coffee grounds immediately after brewing and rinse the filter basket.
- Descale and sanitize: Run a descaling cycle, then a cycle with water only. Optionally, run a cycle with a food-safe coffee machine cleaner following the product instructions.
