Water or steam leaks from the top or around the filter holder during brewing.

Safety first: Beware of hot water and steam. Unplug and let the unit cool before touching the brew head.

• Check filter loading: Do not overfill the filter basket. Level the coffee and avoid tamping too hard on non-espresso models.
• Clean brew head: Wipe the underside of the brew head and the rim of the filter holder to remove coffee oils and grounds.
• Inspect gasket: Look at the rubber seal around the brew head. If it is cracked, flattened, or sticky, it should be replaced.
• Use correct filter: Ensure you are using the original Severin filter basket and holder for your model.
