AEG Brush Roll Overload on High-Resistance Surfaces

Brush roll keeps stopping on carpets but works on hard floors

Possible Causes

Carpet too thick for selected power mode, Worn brush roll bearings increasing load, Weak brush motor, Incorrect height setting (if available)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum before working on the nozzle.

  • Step 1 – Clean brush roll: Remove the brush roll and clear all hair and fibres from bristles and end caps.
  • Step 2 – Check bearings: Spin the brush roll by hand. If it does not spin freely, replace the brush roll assembly.
  • Step 3 – Adjust usage: Use a lower power mode or a non-motorised nozzle on very thick or shaggy carpets to reduce load.
  • Step 4 – Test on different surfaces: If the brush stops only on one particular rug, the pile may be too deep for the motorised head.
  • Step 5 – If brush still stalls easily on normal carpets: The brush motor may be weak or failing. Replace the motorised nozzle.
