Possible Causes
Pre-motor filter missing or incorrectly seated, Damaged filter sensor switch, Wrong type of filter installed, Deformed filter frame
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the vacuum and remove it from the charger before opening the filter compartment.
- Step 1 – Remove and inspect filter: Take out the pre-motor filter from the AEG handheld unit. Check for tears, deformation, or missing seals.
- Step 2 – Clean and reinstall: If the filter is reusable, clean it according to the manual and ensure it is completely dry. Reinstall it firmly, making sure it sits flat and locks into place.
- Step 3 – Check for correct filter type: Confirm that you are using a genuine AEG filter designed for your specific model. Incorrect filters may not engage the sensor.
- Step 4 – Inspect sensor area: Look inside the filter housing for a small switch or sensor tab. Ensure it is not obstructed by dust or broken plastic. Gently clean with a dry brush.
- Step 5 – Test operation: Power on the vacuum. If E11 disappears, the filter was not seated correctly.
- Step 6 – Persistent E11: The filter presence sensor or associated wiring on the PCB may be faulty. This requires professional service.
