Possible Causes
Dust container not correctly locked in place, Broken bin latch, Faulty bin presence microswitch, Deformed bin causing poor fit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the vacuum and remove it from the charger before adjusting the dust container.
- Step 1 – Remove and refit bin: Detach the dust container completely from the AEG handheld unit. Inspect the mounting rails and latch for debris or damage. Reattach firmly until you hear a click.
- Step 2 – Check for cracks: Examine the bin for cracks around the latch area or where it engages the body. Replace the bin if it cannot lock securely.
- Step 3 – Inspect bin sensor area: Look inside the bin mounting area for a small switch or plastic tab. Ensure it is not obstructed by dust or broken plastic. Clean gently with a dry brush.
- Step 4 – Test operation: Power on the vacuum. If E15 clears, the bin was not seated correctly.
- Step 5 – Persistent E15: The bin presence switch or its wiring on the main PCB may be faulty. This requires professional service.
