Possible Causes

Blocked filters causing overheating, Motor cooling vents clogged with dust, Worn motor bearings increasing load, Using turbo mode continuously on thick carpets

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch OFF the vacuum and allow it to cool for at least 20–30 minutes before working on it.

  • Step 1 – Clean all filters: Remove pre-motor and exhaust/HEPA filters. Clean or replace them according to the AEG manual. Ensure they are completely dry before refitting.
  • Step 2 – Clear airflow paths: Inspect the cyclone, bin, tube, and nozzle for blockages. Remove any compacted dust or objects.
  • Step 3 – Clean cooling vents: Use a soft brush or another vacuum to remove dust from the motor housing vents.
  • Step 4 – Adjust usage: Avoid running turbo mode continuously on high-resistance surfaces. Alternate between modes to reduce heat buildup.
  • Step 5 – If overheating continues: The motor’s internal bearings or windings may be failing. Replacement of the motor assembly is recommended via an AEG service center.
