Vacuum’s extension tube collapses or does not lock at the selected length

Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and detach the extension tube before working on it.

• Step 1 – Clean locking holes: Extend the tube fully and clean any dust or debris from the locking holes and button area.
• Step 2 – Inspect button action: Press the locking button and ensure it springs back freely. If it sticks, clean around it with a dry brush.
• Step 3 – Check for damage: Look for cracks or bent metal/plastic around the locking mechanism. If damaged, the tube should be replaced.
• Step 4 – Replace tube: If the tube will not lock securely after cleaning, purchase a genuine AEG replacement extension tube.
