Vacuum’s handheld unit separates from the stick or wobbles excessively during use

Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove it from the charger before inspecting the latch.

• Step 1 – Clean latch area: Remove the handheld unit from the stick and clean any dust or debris from the latch and mating surfaces.
• Step 2 – Inspect for wear: Check the plastic hooks and tabs for rounding, cracks, or missing pieces.
• Step 3 – Test engagement: Reattach the handheld unit and ensure it clicks firmly into place. Wiggle gently to check for excessive play.
• Step 4 – Replace worn parts: If the latch no longer holds securely, replace the stick frame or handheld housing through AEG service.
