How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the power switch OFF, remove the battery pack from the vacuum, and unplug the charger from the wall before inspecting anything.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Inspect battery contacts: Remove the battery pack from the handle. Check the metal contacts on both the pack and the vacuum handle for discoloration, pitting, or corrosion. Clean gently with a dry cloth or a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry fully and reinstall.
- 2. Confirm charger output: Plug the Amazon Basics charger into a known-good outlet. Attach the battery pack directly to the charger (if it is a slide-on style) or connect the vacuum with the battery installed (if it charges in-unit). Verify that the charger LED behaves normally (steady or blinking per the user manual). If the charger LED stays off, suspect a bad charger rather than the vacuum.
- 3. Reseat the battery pack: Slide or click the battery pack firmly into the vacuum until you hear/feel a positive lock. A partially seated pack can trigger E1. Try powering on again.
- 4. Cool down the pack: If the vacuum was used heavily just before the fault, the pack’s internal temperature sensor may have tripped. Let the battery sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, then reinstall and test.
- 5. Test with a known-good battery (if available): If you have another compatible Amazon Basics battery pack, install it and see if the vacuum powers on. If it works with the second pack, the original battery pack’s BMS or cells are likely defective and the pack should be replaced.
When to stop: If E1 persists with a known-good charger and after cleaning/reseating contacts, the internal battery management circuitry or main control PCB may be faulty. Do not attempt to open the battery pack; replacement is safer than cell-level repair.
