Possible Causes
Broken drive belt or gear between motor and brushroll, Stripped gear teeth in floor head, Disconnected motor wire inside head, Worn brush motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the floor head.
- Step 1 – Remove brushroll: Open the head and take out the brushroll. Inspect the drive end for a belt or gear connection.
- Step 2 – Check drive components: Look for a snapped belt or missing gear teeth. If damaged, the head usually needs replacement as spare internal parts are rarely sold separately.
- Step 3 – Motor test: With the brushroll removed, briefly power the head (battery installed, use caution). If the motor shaft does not spin, the motor or PCB is faulty.
Replace the complete motorized floor head if the drive system or motor has failed.
